life lessons

i: you taught me how to be independent. how to rely on myself and God only.

ii: to many you seemed closed off and to them it was a problem. but I seen the hurt in your eyes and this was only a way to protect yourself.

iii: you shared the secret to life with me, without words but your actions. “eat well, laugh and reflect”

iv: I am very lucky to have met most of the elders in my family before their passing. your words of wisdom, your smiles, laughs, touch will always be apart of me. your words will be held closely to my heart, including yours. when I have kids I promise you that they will know where they come from. a long line of strong men and even stronger women. your stories will roll off their tongues like their last name.

v: you may not be able to share anymore stories with me, but I will forever cherish those you told me. whenever I think of you I will smile and remember those times you made me sit on your lap, listen to stories I did not want to hear then we would share a basket of our favorite fruits smiling away at life.

vi:  we can never really prepare for what will come because we never know when our last day is. so one must cherish everyday like its their or the ones they love’s last.

vii: today was yours. allahu naxaristo
